Sensors, Products, and Systems for Logistics

Hokuyo Automatic USA Company offers a diverse selection of industrial sensor equipment for logistical operations, which may be helpful in manufacturing and process automation overall. We assist Japan’s manufacturing, material handling, autonomous robotics, and metal industries as a completely owned subsidiary of Hokuyo Automatic Co., Ltd. We make laser rangefinders (LIDAR), obstacle detection scanners, and hot metal detecting lasers.

As warehouses, ports, and terminals increasingly deploy automated mobile material transport systems, Hokuyo offers a broad spectrum of sensors to improve performance, assure safety, and maximize efficiency (AMRs, AGVs, RTGs). Our sensors are utilized for navigation, location, measurement, obstacle detection, optical data transfer, and safety in industrial forklifts, AGVs, driverless vehicles, and semi-autonomous vehicles (SAVs).

Crane-Mounted Sensors KAD-300

The KAD-300 crane collision avoidance sensor lowers the possibility of collisions with monorails, overhead cranes, and other objects near the crane runway. This device can activate stop and slow-down signals and has three separate outputs, a metal casing, and a range of up to 100 feet. The KAD-300 contains a fault (FAULT) output in addition to the three conventional outputs. This output becomes active if the unit’s transmitter or receiver fails.

Sensor units are usually positioned on the bridge of the crane, with reflecting targets placed on the far end wall or another crane. The KAD-300 requires only a few common hardware components, making setup and maintenance easier. This gadget works with stepped controls as well as variable frequency drives.

BWF Series Sensors for Storage and Distribution

Data may be delivered quickly and reliably over long distances when two BWF Series optical data transmission devices are perfectly aligned. Overhead and stacking cranes, autonomous guided vehicle rail systems, and transfer trucks employ radiofrequency identification to offer two-way communication between the truck and the control unit. Because modulated light is used as the transfer medium, these transceivers are resistant to the wear and tear that plagues trailing wires and slip rings, and the re-calibration concerns afflicting radio systems.

Commercial Vehicles UAM-05LP

The UAM-05LP safety laser scanner protects employees in both portable and permanently installed situations. This system is well-suited for a wide range of applications, from monitoring robotic work cells to watching the movements of autonomous autos because users can rapidly build a 5-meter safety zone with up to a 20-meter alert area.

This camera is useful for obstacle detection and localization on AMRs and AVs due to its Ethernet interface, which allows it to record distance data and intensity output values across a 270° field of view (AGV, AGC). The UAM scanner is one of the smallest in the industry, but its 2D LiDAR capabilities in a wide range of industrial applications make it a powerful instrument for ensuring maximum security and averting dangerous situations.

UXM-30LXH-EWA Terminals and Ports

The UXM-30LAH-EWA, a 2D LiDAR and obstacle detection sensor developed for usage in tough settings, can help ports and terminals reduce the probability of events involving RTGs, crane booms, routes, and cross-transit. It has a range of 80 meters and a field of view of 190 degrees, and it communicates through Ethernet. As a consequence, dust and moisture have no effect on scanning performance, making them suitable for detecting dark-colored objects. The three switching outputs can be utilized to warn, slow down, or stop the vehicle within predetermined detection zones.

We can benefit the industrial sector as a whole by offering cutting-edge technology, a diverse range of high-quality products, and unsurpassed service and support to our clients. Visit our website to learn more about how Hokoyo-USA can help you and your warehouse!
